A newly developed prototype of The Automatic Trichinella Detector was presented by the Danish company ParaTest ApS at "the 13th International Conference on Trichinellosis (ICT13) in the field of Trichinella and Trichinellosis at Jilin University, Changchun in China 1st – 6th August 2011. ParaTest Aps specializes in food safety by in developing equipments for detection of Trichinella larvae in meat in slaughterhouses. ParaTest has a unique patent-pending method and an automatic system for detection of Trichinella larvae in meat , and particularly the invention relates to a method and a system comprising a digestion of meat samples, where detection of Trichinella larvae is performed by optical inspection. The system is called a TrichiTester.
